Confidentiality According to the ASCA



Confidentiality 


Informed consent means that because counseling is based on a trusting relationship between counselor and client, the counselor will keep information shared by the client confidential except in situations which an ethical responsibility limits confidentiality. You will be notified under the following circumstances:


1. The student reveals hurting themselves or another person.
2. The student or another person may be in physical danger.


Know that when the student enters into counseling that the student's safety is the main concern, but also to help them with anything that they may be going through. It is a professional relationship to help the student with their overall health.
